From the Music Room

Mrs Keep

Our DPS students had loads of fun preparing and presenting at our Open Day performances on Wednesday.

This term some of our grade 3-6 students have begun or continued to learn chords on the ukulele. We focussed on the importance of using the correct fingers to play C and F so that chord changes could be make smoothly and quickly.

Junior classes have been recognising the difference between BEAT and RHYTHM with half the group playing one or the other before switching. The song "Engine, engine number nine" provided a good example of each of these musical terms.

Production rehearsals commenced this week and by all reports, our new choreographer Jess, made a fantastic start. She mentioned how well behaved our students were. Well done DPS!
