UNE Science Discovery - Primary

Last Tuesday, the UNE Science Discovery Voyager entertained students in Years 3-6 with hands-on science activities here at school. Students were able to rotate between several activities. Students had the opportunity to become forensic scientists and solve the case of Kassy the Missing Koala, as well as learning about science via art or through the magic of physics.

Kindergarten - Music

For Music this term, Kindergarten students have been participating in singing, playing and learning about musical concepts. They visited the music room to explore various musical instruments with Mr King. To end the visit, Mr King played 'This Little Light of Mine' on guitar and our students excitedly sang along.

Year 1 Data Exploration

Last week in Year 1, we explored how to represent data in a range of different ways. This included lists, bar graphs and pictographs. The students had lots of fun collecting data from the different coloured skittles and representing that data using unifix cubes to show a bar graph. Of course, eating them was the best part!

Year 3 Science

This term Year 3 has been learning about ‘states of matter’ in Science. We learnt that everything can be classified as either solid, liquid or gas. Each week we have completed an investigation discovering what happens to states of matter when you add or remove heat. We have enjoyed these investigations and learnt many things. We have even had discussions about the foggy mornings and what state of matter the fog is. What do you think? Is it a liquid, solid or gas?

Year 6

Get ready to rev your engines! In Year 6, we've been diving headfirst into the exciting world where digital systems go wire-free. We've had fun becoming master manipulators, learning to twist and turn the data we transmit to take total control of our robots' movements.

Our ultimate quest? To transform into coding champions, we program our Spheros to blaze a trail around a custom-built race track in our classroom. It's going to be an epic showdown of code, speed, and precision!
