Congratulations to all involved in the Open Day last weekend. The day was a great success with strong visitor numbers (1005 through the gate). All feedback from visitors was extremely positive with many remarking that it was the best Open Day they have attended for some years.
One particularly positive element that was mentioned was the action and movement created by the horses, led cattle, machinery parade and motorbikes. Visitors typically commend our fantastic facilities and program. More importantly they remark on our positive and proud students and what great ambassadors they are for the College.
My thanks to the families who provided goods for the parents fundraising stall and those who assisted on Saturday.
My thanks to members of the College Board who were on hand to answer questions about the College. This is the first time this has been done and was a great success.
My thanks to all staff who know what the day is about and step up to present ourselves to the public. In particular, thanks to the kitchen staff who always do an amazing job; made all the more amazing because this year was Jayde and Colby’s first Open Day.
My thanks to the students who performed so well in the lead up and on the day.
My thanks to Elice Foster who volunteered to assist with the motorbike track.
Ultimately when it all boils down, the success of the Open Day and the College more broadly is a result of the combined efforts of lots of people who are proud to be part of our amazing community.
Bushfire Awareness Training
In previous years, we have arranged a Introductory Bush Fire Training Program for our Year 11 students. Last year our Year 11s missed out, so we will target the Year 12s from here on. We are in the process of negotiating with DFES for some suitable dates in August to complete this important training.
This weekend is extra long to compensate for staff and students who worked on Open Day. Have a great weekend and please stay safe on the roads.
