WHAT'S ON

It’s been a jam-packed term full of exciting events, teamwork and learning! Students showed great encouragement during Cross Country, enjoyed finishing up their golf clinics, and had a blast at the Colour Run—especially getting to help run activities for the Year 3/4s. We also had a special visit from Olympian Brooke Buschkuehl, and our Interschool Sports season has kicked off with soccer and netball.

IN OUR LEARNING

Here's a little recap of what we've been covering in the classroom:

Reading: We’ve been focusing on comprehension strategies such as making inferences, summarising, and connecting ideas across texts. Students are also refining their text response skills using TEEL paragraphs.

Writing: Students have continued developing persuasive writing skills and have now begun a unit on procedural texts. They are currently creating engaging procedural narratives to present to the Preps.

Maths: Our focus this term has been on fractions, decimals, and percentages. Students have explored these concepts through problem-solving tasks and real-world applications.

Humanities: In our Business & Economics unit, students are investigating responsible pet ownership. They researched the cost of owning their dream pet, explored the impact of supply and demand on cost and factors that influence the choices consumers make.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Cross Country: Our students showed amazing sportsmanship and team spirit, cheering each other on and giving it their best effort on the track.

Golf Clinics: We wrapped up our golf sessions this term, with students improving their skills and enjoying the opportunity to try something new.

Colour Run: A highlight of the term! Students loved the range of colourful and active challenges—and were fantastic leaders running stations for the 3/4s.

VIS Athlete Visit: Olympian Brooke Buschkuehl visited and inspired students with her story and advice. They asked thoughtful questions and gained insights into elite sport and resilience.

Interschool Sport: Our winter season is off to a great start with netball and soccer. It’s been great to see students representing our school with pride and teamwork.

Koorie Education: We had the incredible opportunity to explore Indigenous Artifacts. The students valued learning about how they are used in Indigenous Australian Culture and were excited to participate in a game of Marngrook.
