Parable of the Sower

Year 2 is learning about the Parable of the Sower. This parable teaches us that the seeds are like God’s message, and the soil is like our hearts. Jesus wants us to understand that our hearts can be like different types of soil, and that for God’s seed to grow in us, we need to pray, read, and listen to Bible stories, spend time with God, and show kindness and love. These actions help our hearts become good soil where God’s love can grow strong.

Year 6 students joined the primary classes in celebrating the Feast of Saint Joseph. Year 6 prepared the Mass beautifully - reading in English and Arabic, presenting the Offertory, leading the Prayers of the Faithful, serving at the altar, and offering a reverent spiritual dance in thanksgiving. A truly beautiful celebration! St Joseph, Pray for us!

Year 10 Lenten Reflection

Year 10 spent a Pastoral Session in deep reflection on the meaning and purpose of suffering, as we near the end of our Lenten journey, and prepare ourselves for Passion Week.

Students prayed the Litany of Healing and Repentance as a group, before listening to a talk on the Necessity of Suffering, presented by Ms Rachel Chalhoub, focusing on how we are called to unite our own suffering with Jesus' suffering.

Students then spent some individual time reflecting on how Jesus' suffering on the Cross resonates with them. They were allowed to write this out and cover it with red paint to symbolise that Jesus' blood has helped them through their suffering.

Our Year 8 students participated in a meaningful Reflection Day centred on the theme Friendship with Christ. Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of spiritual experiences, including Mass, Reconciliation, the Stations of the Cross, and group activities designed to deepen their understanding of what it means to build a personal relationship with Christ.

A heartfelt thank you to Fr Charbel, Fr Ron, Sr Irene, Mr Ellias, and Ms Zaiter for their insightful talks and guidance throughout the day. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Year 8 Pastoral Team for their ongoing support and care in making this day such a meaningful experience for our students.

Year 10's learning about St Thomas Aquinas

10C have chosen to venerate a different saint for each week of Great Lent! This week, they're learning about St Thomas Aquinas; last week was St Padre Pio - who will they focus in on next week?!

They explored the meaning of the Rite of the Lamp.

A beautiful opportunity for our students to pause, reflect, and grow spiritually as a community. 🙏

Session 1: Who Am I?

In the first session of the 10:10 Program, MCHF Year 10 students explored the profound question: "Who am I?" They contrasted the world’s shifting views of identity with God’s vision—that each person is a beloved son or daughter, created with intrinsic dignity, goodness, and purpose.

Students examined how respectful relationships are rooted in self-giving love rather than self-serving desires. They also discussed how today’s digital culture, while offering connection, can distort self-perception and identity. Inspired by Pope Francis’ caution on social media’s effects, students reflected on how faith provides a firm foundation for their identity.

Our Year 3–12 students gathered in prayer for our Holy Wednesday Mass, entering more deeply into the solemn journey of Holy Week. The liturgy invited our community to reflect on Christ’s compassion, sacrifice, and unwavering love as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

A highlight of the celebration was a moving gospel performance by our Stage 5 Drama students, who brought the Scripture to life with reverence and creativity. Their thoughtful portrayal added a powerful visual dimension to the liturgy, enriching the prayer experience for all present.

We are grateful to our staff and students for their preparation and participation, and for helping our College community enter this sacred season with unity and reflection.

Here’s a warm, community‑centred blurb that celebrates your students and staff while honouring the dignity of the service work:

Serving with Heart: Feeding the Homeless

This week, a dedicated group of our students and staff volunteered their time to support those experiencing homelessness in our wider community.

Their compassion and willingness to serve reflect the heart of our Maronite Catholic values, seeing Christ in every person and responding with kindness, dignity, and hope. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to making a meaningful difference beyond the College gates.
