STUDENT ID CARDS
Students should have recently received their student ID cards. We kindly encourage students to bring their student cards with them when they visit the library. Student cards assist library staff to efficiently process book loans and make printing and scanning a simple process for students.
ONLINE ENCYCLOPEDIAS
I would like to take this opportunity to remind students and families about the two online encyclopedias that are accessible through the school’s library catalogue. The World Book Online encyclopedia is a trusted source of information for students of all ages, with articles, videos, and other multimedia resources. The Encyclopedia Britannica is also available, which provides comprehensive and authoritative information on a wide range of topics.
For more information, follow the links from the library catalogue to the library orientation page.
VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE
The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is underway. The challenge runs from March to September.

Keep going!
TIPS FOR READING MORE THIS YEAR
Evidence shows the great benefits that come from reading. From reducing stress, to getting a better night’s sleep, reading has benefits for mental health and wellbeing. Further to this, reading keeps your mind sharp and increases your knowledge and world view.
Here are some suggestions on how to read more this year:
Start small - Set a daily goal in terms of pages or chapters or in terms of minutes set aside for reading.
Make reading part of your routine. Commit to reading when travelling or before bed.
Get comfy.
Participate in reading challenges. Good Reads has an annual reading challenge. Set your own goal.
Keep track of what you are reading. Create your bookshelf on Good Reads
Make a TBR (To be read list) and have your next book on stand-by.
Borrow reading time from something less important.
Ask friends, teachers and library staff for book recommendations.
Try a new genre.
Search for book lists. (Must read books, best of a genre etc)
