R U OK? Day – Thursday 10 September

This term, our school will be joining communities across Australia to mark R U OK? Day on Thursday, and we're encouraging all students and staff to wear yellow on the day to show support and spark conversation. 

Why it matters:

Research shows 4 in 10 Australians think asking "are you OK?" is a conversation best left to the experts, but you don't need to be a professional to make a difference! Over 80% of people say a genuine check-in from a friend, classmate, or colleague helps a lot, and it takes nothing more than a moment, and a willingness to listen without judgement. 

To help bring this to life, students will be taking part in special lessons on the day designed to demonstrate how to support those around them and check in, so that these skills carry on well beyond just one day of the year.
