Music and Performing Arts

This term in Music/Performing Arts, students have been exploring music through percussion-based warm-up games and drama through mime, improvisation, scripted storytelling and group performance activities. These experiences encourage creativity, collaboration and self-expression while helping students develop confidence and communication skills as they create characters, share stories and perform for their peers.

Grades 1 & 2 are currently preparing performances of The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and The Gingerbread Man. Grades 3/4 are working on Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Moe the Dog in a Tropical Paradise, while Grades 5/6 are rehearsing Alice in Wonderland. Students are also incorporating instruments into their performances, adding music and sound effects to help bring their stories and characters to life.
