On Thursday 26th October, 30 students from 5-6 were selected to go to the science program at Max Biocare in Yinnar. The 30 students were split into three groups, Albert Einstein (Group Three), Murray Curie (Group Two) and Isaac Newton (Group One). The three groups rotated from Beekeeping, Soil Testing, Garden Ramble and Very Powerful Microscopes.
We all got a booklet with questions for all the activities. the research park had lots of plants to trees , bees, birds, insects and very happy ducks! It was good being close to lots of nature, after a single group finished the bees, there were 3 types of honey to enjoy!
After the 3 groups had finished all the activities we headed on the bus back. It was a very interesting experience yet it was very cold and chilly but we all had lots of fun.

This term, Foundation and Grade 1-2 students at Trafalgar Primary School have been participating in cricket clinics as part of our Sport and Physical Education program, and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic.
These clinics have brought an infectious enthusiasm about cricket to our school, with our young students eagerly embracing the sport under the guidance of skilled local coaches. Students have not only improved their fundamental movement skills and physical fitness, but have also been learning about concepts like sportsmanship and fair play.
We're proud of our students' excitement and dedication during these clinics, as we believe that these experiences will contribute to a lifelong love for Sport and Physical Education in the years to come. Our young cricket stars are shining brightly, and we're excited to see their growth and development in the years ahead.
This term, our Grade 3-6 students have been actively engaged in tennis, bowls, and croquet clinics as part of our Sport and Physical Education program, and the results have been nothing short of amazing. These sports clinics have not only enhanced our students' physical fitness but have also helped to foster positive relationships with local sporting groups.
Our tennis clinics, guided by local coach Glen Kirstine, have helped to develop our student’s tennis technique, teamwork skills, and sportsmanship abilities. Meanwhile, our bowls and croquet clinics, led by the Trafalgar Park Bowls and Croquet Club, have introduced our students to these lesser-known yet highly rewarding sports, while fostering an appreciation for precision, strategy, and tactics.
The addition of these clinics to our Sport and Physical Education program has been a resounding success, and underscored the value of partnering with local sporting groups to deliver a comprehensive Sport and Physical Education program. We extend our gratitude to all the coaches and community members for their unwavering support throughout the delivery of these clinics. As we watch our students' growth in both skill and character, we look forward to a future of continued success.

On Friday, we made popcorn containers. We had to work in pairs. We had to fill in a sheet when we were making it.
Our materials were paper, sticky tape, rulers and a pencil. STRICTLY nothing else.
So me and Bean visualised what it would look like. It was something like this🍿but it was stripe red and blue.
Since we were the last we put popcorn in it to find out. Sadly it was too small but we still got popcorn at the end.

On Friday the 20th of October, we did a project that was the best of fun. We were making popcorn containers with paper. Me and Ivy were building but then … our project was falling apart. It was torture but in the end we got it to be stable and stay upright and we got to eat the popcorn. It was yummy but we made the container too big and it didn’t fill up all the way so we didn’t win. Sophia and Milly won because theirs was the closest but it was very fun.

On Friday, Ellie and I had to make a container for a bag full of popcorn.
Ellie and I made a cone container for the popcorn. It was light purple with dark purple and grey flowers that we cut and taped to the cone.
Ours overflowed because it was too small. When it was our turn, Ms Ross dropped the whole bag of popcorn!

On Friday, we did an experiment on popcorn. We had to make a shape container of your own choice and you had to be in partners of 2 or 3 if needed. We could not use any objects like pencils to make it stand up but you could use it to draw on your shape or to draw your shape.
You got 10 minutes to plan it and 20 minutes to make it. You had to stand up and say why you chose your shape and what were your challenges and obstacles and what was your solution.
At the end, we got to see who got the whole bag of popcorn in their popcorn shape bag and Ms Ross dropped the bag of popcorn one time but luckily she had a spare. Lots of people were so close. Ms Ross took pictures of the closest ones.
How many pieces of popcorn did you have to fit in your shape? 290 pieces in a popcorn bag.
At the very end, Ms Ross let us have some popcorn in our popcorn bags that we made. I was fun and hard because we could only use paper, staples and tape and rulers to measure the shape but you could not use the ruler to hold it up.

On Friday, the class got to have a partner. Then we got to do a fun experiment. The experiment was to make a paper popcorn holder and see if it was too big or if it was too small or if it was just right to hold a whole bag of popcorn. After, you and your partner got to eat some popcorn. It was so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, fun. I would like to do something like that again.

Hey you! Guess what we did on Friday. We had popcorn but let me wind back about two hours ago. We had this sheet and we had to design a holder for the popcorn.
We had to pick a partner. I chose Cooper as my partner. We designed ours like the Piston Cup from Lightning McQueen. It was so close but a couple of centimetres too tall. It was okay though. It was only a game. You lose, you win. You should be happy at the end because you get to eat the popcorn in the thing you made. It was so fun to build the Piston Cup.

First, we grabbed our maths scrapbook and then we drew what our popcorn container would look like. Our popcorn container was blue and red. Then the teacher tipped the popcorn in but it was too small.

I love popcorn. You can eat it; eat it at the movies, put sat on it and eat it with butter.
On Friday, we made buckets to see if we could make the bucket fill up with popcorn perfectly. After everyone had tested their buckets, Ms Ross filled up everyone’s buckets so we could eat it. No that’s my kind of day!!
