Pat Maths Data

Our students have recently completed PAT Maths  assessments in Stage 1 2 and 3. These tests have been developed specifically to provide richer and more accurate diagnostic information about students’ achievement and needs in the mathematics learning areas.

PAT Maths assesses a range of content areas and proficiencies to ensure that the breadth of students’ mathematical abilities are captured. The assessments are designed to be engaging and to encourage students to interact with the content to the best of their ability.

All the classes showed some great improvement. Below you can see Stage 2's results.

How Do Teachers Use this Data

Teachers read the data from the reports and this allows them to see what the students did well in and what they struggled with. Teachers can then work with students to improve in that area. Therefore the students are acquiring learning that is focused on their particular need. If there is large numbers of students that struggled with an area teachers can take more time to revise that particular unit or they can add them to their daily warm ups.

We are proud of what the teachers are doing in their maths lessons each day and the overall improvement by the students shows that what we are doing is definitely working.
