Focus on Learning

Stage 3

Stage 3 have been learning how to effectively use the graphic design app 'Canva'. This tool enables students to publish their learning in a wide variety of ways that build their capacity to use ICT as part of their everyday learning. Last term, Stage 3 completed 'The Writing Process' for informative texts. Linked with our History Unit 'Australia as a Nation', students chose a significant event or person that shaped Australia as a nation today.

Students then published their information report as an infographic using 'Canva'. I have thoroughly enjoyed this new and exciting way to publish their work. Here are their published infographics.

Coolamon Challenge - Week 5

Week 3 winners!   Congratulations to Jack and Olive!   Our primary Challenge proved to be tricky with only 2 correct responses.  Well done to the students who participate each week!

This week's challenges are maths based.  Good luck!

Nature Ninjas - our gardening club

Our Nature Ninjas have already been hard at work this term, planning an array of projects for our school garden areas.  We have been busy pulling out our older plants and planting new seedlings for our summer crop.  We have also put down mulch to help retain the moisture now that our weather is heating up.

The Nature Ninjas have begun working on the revitalisation of the Wellness Garden.  We have pulled out some of the older plants, and have planted some strawberries and perennial flowers.  We will continue to work on reinvigorating the wellness garden over the coming weeks!

Be sure to scroll across so you can see all of the photos!

Chicken Update

Our eggs have hatched!  We have 19 healthy chicks!   See below for some videos of the new additions.

The chicks are currently under a brooder plate, which keeps them warm.  They will stay under this until their feathers grow, and they can regulate their own temperatures.   The next challenge will then be for Mrs Meade to pick the hens from the roosters at a young age to bring them into our coop at school.
