Annual Improvement Plan : Learning Growth Success

This Wednesday the Leadership team will be in Tamworth to share our review of our Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) with CSO School Performance Leaders and St Joseph’s West Tamworth and St Michael’s Manilla. A summary of our successes include:

All our Kinder students have reached the Diocesan Reading Benchmark and 71% are above this.

100% of our Year 2 and Year 3 students have shown growth in their PAT Reading comprehension skills.

Our current Year 4 students have shown growth in Maths and are now above the National Average.

New students to our school have displayed significant growth in Maths in Stage 3.

Our Naplan Writing results in both Year 3 & Year 5 show all our students are placed in the strong and exceeding categories; a result above the Diocesan Average.

We have a lot to celebrate at St Joey’s!

Real Talk

Our primary students will have guest speakers in their classrooms this week to discuss important topics about growing up in a changing world. We acknowledge the CSO for sponsoring this initiative which is very beneficial to our students. Class teachers have sent a detailed note about the sessions to parents via Compass.

Remembrance Day

This Saturday is Remembrance Day. At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month each year we remember the moment in 1918 when World War I came to an end. On Remembrance Day, we remember Australian men and women who have served in war and peacekeeping activities. Remembrance Day does not glorify war – it honours the memory of all those who laid down their lives for Australia. As a mark of respect to those who have served, we stop to observe one minute’s silence. All students will be involved in a short liturgy during assembly time to honour those people who have given their lives for our country.

New 100s Chart for Playground and Chalkboards

The students are enjoying our new hundreds chart and chalkboards as you can see in the photos below.

Have a happy and healthy week
