Wellbeing & Respectful Relationships Week

Labreni Pappas

This week the whole school has been participating in a range of activities that promote Wellbeing and help to create Healthy and Respectful Relationships.

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to watch a memorable, high quality and high impact musical that was engaging the entire time. ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ successfully addressed important topics, such as tackling bullying and resilience, whilst teaching that we can let go of the pain of our past and make our future better. Overall, the show provided powerful social and emotional learning.

Every student also received a Gratitude Journal to complete throughout the week. Gratitude Journal writing has many benefits including, improving one’s mood, being more optimism about the future, as well as better sleep.

Students participated in many activities including: mindful meditation, yoga, singing affirmation songs, creating mandalas, reading and discussing picture story books that tell social stories and using the parachute for team building.

We are hoping to make this an annual event.
