Message from the Principal Team

World Teachers’ Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow is World Teachers' Day! At CNPS we will be celebrating all of our wonderful teachers with a special morning tea catered by our Education Support Staff and Leadership Team. We would like to acknowledge our very hard working teachers who go above and beyond to provide a quality education and safe learning environment for our children.

Year 1 Dinner and Year 2 Sleepover

Year 1/2 students and staff survived the Year 1 Dinner and Year 2  Sleepover last Thursday. This event plays an important role in our CNPS Camp Program. From Foundation, we start preparing students to eventually get to the very important and exciting Year 3/4 and 5/6 camps. On Friday 10 November our Foundation students will attend school early in the morning in their pyjamas for the Foundation Breakfast. Year 1 students attend the Year 1 Dinner which gets them ready for the next big step, the Year 2 sleepover. Students in years 3-6 then extend to two nights away for their camps. Our Year 5/6 students are currently attending a 3 day 2 night camp at Camp Weekaway in Benloch.

150 Year Anniversary Celebration Assembly and Morning Tea Monday 20 November at 9:15am

We will be formally celebrating our 150 Year Anniversary with an Official Assembly followed by School Tours conducted by students and then a Morning Tea in the hall on Monday 20 November at 9:15am. We have reached out to the Wurundjeri Council to arrange a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony and we have invited a number of special guests. Secretary of the Department of Education, Jenny Atta, has accepted our invitation to attend as has our local Member of Parliament Dr Tim Read and past Principal, Graham Stevenson.

We would also like to extend a warm invitation to our Carlton North Primary School Community including past students and families.

2024 Transitions

We have been busy meeting our future Foundation students during Meet & Greets the past few weeks. We are looking forward to seeing our 2024 newest students coming in for their first transition session in just over 2 weeks’ time.

For our current students moving into  Years 1- 6 in 2024, our whole school transition days will be Tuesday 12 December and Monday 18 December.

Our current Year 6 students will attend the statewide Year 7 Transition Day on Tuesday 12 December.

Maintenance and Gardening

We are still looking for a person to assist us with our school maintenance and gardens. If there are any CNPS family members or friends who might be interested in a few hours of work per week we would be very keen to talk to them.
