Miss Mel's Message
Principal - St Brigid's Primary School
We are hoping you all enjoyed your super long weekend. Staff engaged in professional development on Wednesday and explored engaging ways to ignite young minds through inquiry processes and practices, learning how to create meaningful experiences for our students, to foster a love of discovery and learning. The theme for Term 1 across Prep to Year 6 in 2024 is “Belonging”.
The weather is becoming warmer, the daylight periods longer, and we all have a spring in our step. Well certainly Gen and I, as last week we had a welcome visit from some gorgeous natives to start off our morning.
Some exciting new installations are happening on Area B. Our generous P&F along with a Willliamson’s Foodworks Community Grant have enabled us to purchase three exciting new Castle & Cubby Cubbies. These exciting new additions will be a main feature of our Senior legacy garden for 2023. The next stage of this new play area will go in next week, and has been purchased from the profits from our Bunnings BBQ fundraiser. Stay tuned for more updates next week. A big thank you to our school community for rallying behind our fundraising efforts that have made this all possible. We know this is going to be a treasured play space for years to come.
On Thursday the 9th of November our 2024 preps had their first orientation session. Petrina and I discussed how to prepare students for school, and our existing families shared stories and their own experiences of their children and themselves being part of our wonderful community.
Prep were given their personalised prep show bags which included items to support school readiness that assist with literacy, numeracy and fine motor skills.
Operoo Information: It is important that you maintain up-to-date records on Operoo. Please check the Medicare and other health information to ensure if there is an emergency we are able to take appropriate and immediate action.
Building works keep ticking over. We are almost there. Can’t wait for handover.
We have recently added some new frosting to the first aid room, office area and middles windows. It looks great, and celebrates our Catholic identity.
