Indi was the youngest performer of the night and performed her own original song, “Staring at the Sun”. It was great to see so many MGC students there to support Indi too!

Year 12’s.

It has been a busy time of year for our Year 12 Performing Arts students who have been preparing for their performance exams.

Music.

Our Year 12 music students had their final performance evening on Tuesday, 5th September, as well as a holiday workshop and a Term 4 Year 12 Music Lunchtime Recital Series.

We wish them all the best for their performance exams on various weekends, finishing on Saturday, 28th October. A huge thank you to Andy Clarke and Katrina Halliday for accompanying our students for their performance exams, and to their instrumental teachers for preparing them.

Drama

On the evening of the third of October, the Year 12 Drama students presented their final solo performance pieces to their family and friends in preparation for their final performance exam. After months of brainstorming, improvising, researching, scripting, rehearsing, editing, and refining fourteen performances were ready for the stage. Of the ten VCAA offered character structures, eight have been explored by the members of Melbourne Girls’ College Drama students. The link to the program from the evening, with information about these eight chosen structures can be found here.

Then on Friday the 13th the students presented their solo performances for examination purposes to a panel of VCAA examiners. It was a great day and everyone came out of their exam smiling - great work everyone!!

VCE Unit 3 /4 Performance Exams

Congratulations to our Unit 3 /4 Dance Students on their completion of their performance exams!

On Monday the 16th of October the students each performed two solos to a panel of external assessors, their Skills-Based solo and Cohesive Composition solo. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase both their technical skill in dance as well as their creativity and choreographic skills. They all did a fantastic job!
