Learning Enhancement Team
Student of the Week
Every week, the Learning Enhancement Team put their heads together and vote on a Student of the Week. The student is chosen based on observations made by the LE Team, within the week. This week, the title goes to Trixie Lindsay (Year 8) for her overall increase in confidence and involvement in classes. Congratulations, Trixie!

Please see below the sessions she will be there and when she will be tailoring revision sessions for grades. It’s been great to see the Year 9 and 10 students take up this offer in weeks 1-4.

The Premmie Marathon Challenge
Brown House Social Justice
My name is Lucy Ashton and I’m the Brown House Prefect for 2024. Over the month of November, Brown House is completing the “Running for Premature Babies” Marathon Challenge. This challenge is run throughout well-being groups, as a competition for those who can walk/run/cycle/row the most kilometres and who can fundraise the most money. In addition, we’re aiming to walk 4,000 kilometres as a House, or the equivalent of having us do a relay across Australia.
In the first week, Brown House has walked 1,166 kilometres and fundraised $511.
Why?
26,000 Australian babies are born preterm each year, the definition of such being born before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy and after 20 (the average being 40). This is the leading cause of death and disability in children up to 5 years of age in the developed world. Running for Premature Babies has helped support 9,000 of the children.
How does this charity help?
All money fundraised by us, and the broader Australian community, goes towards life-saving neo-natal equipment for our Australian Hospitals. This equipment helps aid the breathing difficulties, heart and brain problems which risk the lives of the young Australian babies, as well as helping prevent disabilities.
What can I do to help?
To get on board with this lifesaving and heart-moving charity, Brown House is asking you to please make a tax-deductable charitable donation to help us reach our goal of $2,500. If you’d like to donate, the links to each well-being page are below, as well as my own if your child is not in Brown. Help us make a better world for Australia’s Premature Babies.
