Year Six

Dear Year Six Families,

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the families of Year Six. With your continued support, your child's education journey is all the more richer.

"Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times."

LITERACY

Our students have been putting their learning into action as they apply their knowledge of procedural writing to compose scientific reports. Before embarking on their hands-on experiments, students crafted comprehensive reports that included an introduction, aim, materials, and a step-by-step procedure. Following the completion of their experiments, students meticulously documented their results, answered discussion questions, and drew meaningful conclusions based on their findings. We are delighted to share that the students have showcased their mastery of scientific report writing. It has been truly gratifying to witness the impressive scientific reports they have produced.

MATHS GROUPS

We are delighted to share that our Year 6 students have successfully concluded their Geometric Reasoning unit and recently completed their post-assessment task. The results of the assessment highlight the tremendous progress our students have made, underscoring their dedication and hard work in their studies. We extend our congratulations to the students for their remarkable growth. Well done, Year 6.

SCIENCE

In our classrooms, students have been diving into exciting scientific experiments and discoveries. They've been exploring the fascinating concepts of viscosity and density.

To understand viscosity, our young scientists placed a range of liquids, including water, oil, tomato sauce, and honey, onto a board and measured the time it took for each to reach the end. The longer the time, the higher the viscosity of the liquid. Additionally, students delved into the concept of density by layering various liquids in jars and observing the separation of layers. The liquid closest to the bottom revealed the highest density. It's been a hands-on and engaging learning experience, and we're thrilled to see our students' enthusiasm for science flourish.

Volleyball - Primary School Cup

On Wednesday, the 25th of October, our Volleyball team showcased their outstanding skills at the Primary School Cup, hosted at Eagles Stadium. Over the course of the day, they engaged in spirited competition, participating in five matches against rival schools. The team demonstrated their prowess by triumphing in an impressive four out of the five matches. It is with great delight that we announce that, at the culmination of the event, our team emerged victorious, claiming the gold medal. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and countless hours our students invested in practice during their recess and lunch breaks.

We extend our congratulations to Halo Key (captain), Layla Kanoun (vice-captain), Dolly Gwin, Aaleahya Hammill, Tara Jobe, Ava Maloney, and Eseta Tofa for their exceptional achievement in becoming both premiership players and gold medalists in the same calendar year. This accomplishment is a true reflection of their unwavering commitment and passion for the sport. A special thanks is extended to Koen Vella and Naz Temese, who stepped up and joined the team, contributing significantly to our success. We acknowledge that without their contributions, this triumph may not have been possible.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the parents who came out to support our team. Your presence meant a great deal to our students, and your support did not go unnoticed. Together, we have achieved something truly remarkable, and we celebrate this momentous achievement with you.
