BNPS Fete
We are pleased to announce that our recent school fete raised $38,113.90. This is an outstanding result, one that demonstrates the strong community connection to BNPS.
This would not have been possible without the efforts of our parent volunteers, staff, and everyone who came along on the day to show their support. Every purchase, every game, and every contribution made a difference.
All funds raised will go directly towards upgrading the Blue Park playground — an investment in a space our students use and enjoy each day. We look forward to sharing more details about the planned improvements in due course.
Whilst the fundraising aspect of the fete is significant, it is important to recognise the other great benefit of events like our fete - the chance to laugh, play and celebrate together as a community.
Grade 5/6 Camp
This morning our Grade 5/6 students began their annual camp, this year visiting Sovereign Hill and the Log Cabin camp in Creswick. Camps are an essential part of the primary school experience, a chance to build independence, resilience and take big steps towards the adults they will become. I would like to recognise the efforts of the staff who have worked to organise this camp, there is a massive amount of work that goes into ensuring the experience is a success. I would also like to thank the volunteers who are giving up their time to help supervise, without this assistance we would not be able to run this program.
We look forward to hearing the camp stories upon their return!
Interschool Sport Gala Days
Throughout this term, our grade 5/6 students have had the opportunity to participate in a series of inter school sport days, with our school represented across soccer and AFL competitions.
Each day has been structured to maximise participation, ensuring every student has had the chance to take to the field and contribute to their team. It has been fantastic to see such consistent enthusiasm and encouragement from both students and staff across each event.
Beyond competition, these regular sporting occasions play a vital role in supporting student health and wellbeing. Physical activity, teamwork, and the values of sportsmanship — showing respect for opponents, teammates, and officials — are skills that extend well beyond the sporting field.
We congratulate all students who have participated this term and thank our staff for their ongoing dedication in making these days such a success. We look forward to continuing to celebrate fitness, fun, and fair play together.
Supervision at BNPS
Student safety at Brunswick North Primary School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.
Before school: School grounds are supervised at from 8:45am each morning.
After school: School grounds are supervised until 3:45pm each afternoon
Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity).
Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice).
Families are encouraged to contact the school office on 93831400 or refer to the TeamKids website for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community or if you would like any further information about our student supervision arrangements.
