Principal's Message

As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all that our young people have experienced together. This term has been filled with moments that have challenged, inspired and united our school community. While each event has been unique, they all share a common purpose: providing opportunities for our young people to discover new strengths, develop their confidence and grow into compassionate, capable people who make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Stage 2 returned from an unforgettable ZooSnooz adventure in Dubbo, bringing home wonderful memories and new learning. Experiences like these remind us that some of the richest learning happens beyond the classroom.

Back at school, there has been no shortage of opportunities to get involved. From our Athletics Carnival and High Jump Day to Diocesan Cross Country and representative sport, our young people have embraced every challenge with determination and great sportspersonship. A special congratulations to Wylie C, who has made school history as the first Joey to earn Polding selection in both rugby league and rugby union—an outstanding achievement.

Our NAIDOC celebration was another highlight of the term, providing a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to deepen our understanding of Australia's story. Catholic Schools Week also provided many memorable moments, with our young people proudly representing St Joseph's at the Catholic Schools Week Concert and the Eisteddfod, showcasing not only their talents but also the confidence and commitment that comes from embracing new opportunities.

Earlier in the term, the staff enjoyed taking over the Narrabri Parkrun, demonstrating the same teamwork and community spirit we encourage in our young people each day. Meanwhile, excitement continues to build as rehearsals for this year's musical gather momentum. We look forward to sharing the finished production with our community next term.

Finally, today marks the end of an era as we farewell Brooke Woodhill after nine wonderful years at St Joseph's. Brooke has made an immeasurable contribution to our school through her dedication, kindness and genuine care for generations of young people. She has been an integral part of our community, and while we are incredibly sad to see her go, we are equally grateful for everything she has given to St Joseph's. On behalf of our young people, staff and families, we thank Brooke for her outstanding service and wish her every blessing and success in the exciting new chapter ahead.
