Visual Arts

As a school we are participating in the Dairy Australia Picasso Cow competition. This competition has been running for the past 10 years, with schools who participate gaining an understanding of the Australian dairy industry.  As a team, students will paint a fibreglass statue of a cow representing their knowledge about dairy farms, cows and dairy products.

Currently, in Visual Arts, students have been focussing on using appropriate visual elements and design principles to visually represent their understanding without the need for words.

The next step in the competition process is for the cow to be named. This week, all students have had the opportunity to suggest a name to their class teacher, before each class undertakes a voting process, resulting in two top favourites. All classes will provide the top two favourite names which will then be put to students to vote for their overall favourite. The winning name will be announced at the next suitable assembly. 

If BEPS wins the nationwide competition, participating students will have a free milkshake day provided by Dairy Australia.
