NAPLAN

Celebrating Our 2026 NAPLAN Results

We are delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our Year 3 and Year 5 students in the 2026 NAPLAN assessments.

Our results are a reflection of the hard work, persistence and dedication shown by our students, the expertise and commitment of our teachers, and the ongoing support provided by our families.

Year 3 students achieved exceptional proficiency results, with over 90% of students reaching the Strong or Exceeding proficiency levels in most learning areas. These results highlight the strong foundations our students are building in literacy and numeracy.

Our Year 5 students also demonstrated impressive progress, with 9 out of 10 students achieving medium or high growth across Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy. These results reflect the significant learning gains students have made over time.

The tables below provide a snapshot of our school's performance and compare Burwood East Primary School's results with those of Like Schools and Local Schools. These comparisons demonstrate the consistently strong outcomes achieved by our students across the assessed learning areas.

While we are incredibly proud of these achievements, NAPLAN is just one measure of student learning. At Burwood East Primary School, we use a range of assessment information throughout the year—including classroom assessments, teacher observations, Essential Assessment, PAT, reading assessments and student work samples—to develop a comprehensive understanding of each child's progress and learning needs.

Our teaching teams carefully analyse this data to celebrate success, identify areas for continued growth and ensure every student is supported and challenged to achieve their personal best. This ongoing approach enables us to provide targeted teaching and maintain high expectations for all learners.

We thank our students for their efforts, our staff for their dedication to high-quality teaching, and our families for their continued partnership in supporting student learning. Together, we are proud of these excellent results and remain committed to helping every student thrive.
