Assistant Principal's Report

Parent Teacher Conferences:

Families were invited to participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences this week. Interviews were scheduled for Tuesday 21st July and Wednesday 22nd July. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss your child's Semester 1 report, celebrate their achievements, and talk about their learning goals for the remainder of the year. Specialist teachers conducted interviews with Foundation and Year 3 parents. We hope you found these a wonderful opportunity to connect with the teacher and understand your child’s growth.

100 Days of Prep

Congratulations to our 2026 Prep students for reaching 100 Days of Prep on Friday 17th July. This milestone is a great way to see how much our youngest learners have grown since starting school. We have enjoyed watching them become more confident and independent, make new friends, and learn so much. We are very proud of what they have achieved and look forward to seeing their continued growth this year.

Year Level Overviews:

This week you received an overview of your child’s year level. It outlines the term ahead, including curriculum focus and events. Our specialist program also contributed to these overviews, bringing together all learning areas. We hope you find them comprehensive and helpful in understanding what’s happening in the classrooms and around the school this term.

These term overviews also highlight the events and activities that are pertinent to your child’s class and year level. The School Inquiry for the term is ‘I am an engineer’, and many students are already ready for the opportunity to solve problems and design something.

Be Safe:

Parking inspectors have been visiting the area recently.

Please continue to observe all signage in the school’s ‘kiss and drop’ and parking zones during drop-off and pick-up. For everyone’s safety, please do not leave your car unattended in these areas and always use the designated crosswalks when walking your child to and from the school. Following these safe practices helps ensure everyone gets to and from school safely.

Emergency Contacts / Medication / Asthma / Anaphylaxis Plans

Please remember to provide updated asthma and anaphylaxis plans to the school each year. Since we are halfway through the year, check that any medications are still current. These updates are needed for our records, and we cannot keep students safe without them.

Similarly, any personal details that may change over time must be shared with the school. If your details have changed, please inform the office in writing as soon as possible.

Uniform Reminder:

Please be reminded of the school’s uniform policy, which requires all students to wear an appropriate and approved school uniform. BEPS uniform is predominantly black and yellow with a touch of white. Pink leggings and/or colourful add-ons are not part of our uniform. If your child is cold, please purchase appropriate school outerwear. Our uniform and students look SMART when worn well.

Free Dress can be worn when children are celebrating their Birthday so everyone can wish them well.

Year 6 Transition:

Thank you to the families who have already returned their Year 7 placement acceptance slip or completed the online submission. Please make sure the acceptance slip is returned to your child’s classroom teacher by Tuesday 12 August.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office or Irena (6I).

Have a great weekend.
