Welcome!
Paul Bissinella, Acting Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to this week’s news, our last of the term!
Please Note: School finishes for the term this Friday 26th June at 2:15 pm. School resumes for Term 3 on Monday 13th July at 8:55am.
School Feast Day – Friday 26th June 2026
This Friday we celebrate the Feast Day of our patron saint, St Peter. This is a special day in the life of our school, giving us the chance to reflect on the values and faith that sit at the heart of St Peter’s.

St Peter was one of Jesus’ first followers, a fisherman who was called to lead others in faith and became a key leader in the early Church. His story reminds us that ordinary people can grow in courage, faith and leadership.
To mark this important day, we will gather as a school at St Killian’s Church for Mass. Families are warmly invited to attend and celebrate with us.
Transition and Orientation Days
Our school has enjoyed the chance over the last 2 weeks to participate in transition days and activities in preparation for our new class structures at the beginning of next term. This Wednesday all the students will undertake a Term 3 Orientation Day where the children will spend extended time with their new class.
New Building Program
Last week our Foundation to Year 2 students moved into their new rooms and our refurbished building which completes Stage 2A of our Building Masterplan project. The next Stage 2B begins over the school holidays with a completion date expected in mid-October - in Term 4.
Restructure and Support for Students at St. Peter’s
In Semester 2, we’re strengthening how we support students in literacy, with more targeted small-group teaching alongside classroom learning.
Students will access programs that match their needs, with support closely monitored and adjusted over time. This work is led by our teachers and Learning Enhancement staff, who are working together to ensure every child keeps building confidence as a reader.
Mrs Holland our Learning and Teaching Leader has outlined these changes in more detail in the Learning & Teaching section of the newsletter.
School Day Changes:
At the beginning of next term our school timetable changes. Please see the new times below.

School Reports
Your child’s School Report will be available for download from the Simon Everywhere site from this Wednesday. My thanks to staff who have completed thorough and informative reports as this is a time consuming and demanding task. We hope these together with the Parent/Teacher Interviews in Term 3 will provide a comprehensive summary of your child/ren’s progress to date and direction for future learning and development that we equally pursue.
Holiday Reading
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. – Dr. Seuss
The school holidays are a great opportunity for children (and parents) to unwind and spend some quality family time together. To continue to foster a love of books and to consolidate progress made throughout the Semester, it is important that we encourage our children to read throughout the school holidays.
Below are some ideas to support children with reading over the holidays:
Lost Property
The buckets are full of UNAMED items. If your child has lost a jumper or tracksuit pants please contact the office to retrieve these items.
School Fee Accounts
With the end of term this week please ensure that your school fee account is up to date. If you are unable to meet your commitment by the end of the term please contact Carmel at the office to make alternative arrangements.
Prayers for Families

We pray first for our own families and for those who support families.
We pray for families in our community and in the world who are experiencing times of war, famine, drought and poverty.
We pray for leaders in our Church and community, that they will be advocates of peace and justice for the powerless in our society.
We pray for ourselves, that we will have the courage and wisdom to reach out to others and strengthen families and community.
God of all goodness, we give thanks to you for hearing our prayers through Christ, our Lord Amen.
Enjoy the last week of term and, when the holiday finally comes, may it be a time of peace, blessings and renewal for you all.
I thank you all for your continued support and look forward to working with you again next term.
Warm regards,
Paul Bissinella
