From the Principal

Dear families,

Thank you for what has been a great semester at ACS. We have seen many students shine in all areas of school life and can confidently say we are proud of their achievements.

Monday saw the second P&C meeting for the term and although I was not able to make this one I thank each member for coming and being your voice.

Uniform continues to be a focus and we have started a raffle for those who are in uniform each day with a canteen voucher prize drawn out on a Friday morning.  In relation to shoes, safety comes first. Black shoes would be great, but this may be a consideration when purchasing the next set as your child grows out of the current pair, and is not a focus of the current uniform push. Crocs are still a no.

School Jumpers would be great, we are also okay with jumpers worn that demonstrate that your child has represented the school in school-based events. These can include State Sports jumpers/jackets, KROP jumpers and Riverina jumpers/jackets. As exciting as weekend sport are, they are not school based and need to be saved for weekends and holidays. Also, representative wear should be worn by students who earned them and not the wider family to be included as uniform.

There are supports in place if there are financial reasons why your child is not able to access uniform, please contact the school and plans will be made.

Excursions

As I write this, the whole school is at an excursion to Altina. The total cost of the day was $3500 including entry and transport. Keeping expenses to a minimum for families is something that we are committed to. Please be mindful of a couple of things when your child decides last minute to pull out of an excursion.

  • We have to complete payments well in advance for most events and are unable to get refunds if someone changes their mind.
  • Buses are booked based on numbers and transport is a big proportion of each trip. We are lucky to have amazing support from Warakirri and this has allowed us to offer a couple more trips this year as it has lessened the financial burden on the school for each trip.

For the remainder of 2026 we are committed to:

  • Day excursions – asking for a payment of $15 per student with a cap at $40 per family.
  • Overnight excursions – capping payment of $150 per student
  • Supporting families who may require financial support to ensure access to excursions.

Kinder 2027 Transition

Mrs Minchin and Mrs Kroek are busy planning a great transition program for those students joining us in 2027. If you know of anyone in the community who has not yet enrolled, please remind them to reach out.  We have already had Storytime connection days with students at the Pre School, and they have been invited by the school to join in for the excursion to Circus Quirkus in Wagga Wagga in Week 1 Term 3. School is paying for this event as part of its commitment to community engagement. K-2 are excited to support their younger peers.

Last Day of Term

We would like to invite you to share Breakfast Club with us on the last day of term. We will be cooking bacon and egg rolls and this meal will be followed by a chance for parents of Primary to join in with a Play is the Way session under the COLA.  A note allowing us to work out numbers will be pushed out on Sentral early next week.

Holiday Safety

Please take the time this Winter break to rest, recharge and do amazing things in a safe manner. The school belongs to the community, we ask all the community to help keep the space safe for everyone.

Have a happy and safe break and we will see you all in the new term ready to hit the ground running with a Creative and Performing Arts focus.
