One of the things I value most about Valkstone Primary School is the strong sense of community and belonging that exists across our school. Our school uniform plays an important role in creating that sense of identity and pride, helping students feel connected to something bigger than themselves and ensuring all students are represented equally as members of our school community.

Recently, I have noticed an increasing number of students wearing non-uniform jumpers and jackets to school, as well as some students wearing items that do not align with our Uniform Policy, such as black shorts instead of the approved blue school uniform shorts.

Our Uniform Policy clearly outlines the expectations regarding school uniform, and I ask all families to support the school by ensuring students attend in the correct uniform every day.

Uniform expectations are an important part of maintaining consistency across our school. Just as we have expectations around behaviour, attendance and learning, we also have expectations around uniform. These expectations help foster school pride and contribute to the positive culture that we work hard to build and maintain.

If your family is experiencing financial hardship or difficulties accessing uniform items, I encourage you to contact the school office. We understand that circumstances can sometimes make purchasing uniform items challenging, and we are committed to working with families to provide support where needed. All conversations will be treated sensitively and confidentially.

I appreciate the support of our families in this area and ask that all students wear the correct school uniform. By working together and maintaining consistent expectations, we can continue to strengthen the sense of pride and belonging that makes Valkstone such a special place to learn.
