Job Market

As our society and economy change over time, so too do the job opportunities for young people.  Technology and automation continue to impact all industries, however, the most significant area for employment remains in health.  Keeping an eye on labour market information helps students to make informed decisions about their future opportunities.

Workplace Learning – Placement 1 concluded 21/22 May

Last week 80 Year 11 and 12 students completed their Semester 1 Workplace Learning Placement.  It was wonderful to read such positive employer feedback for these students, and we are very proud of the great impression that St Norbert students are making in the community.  

Please note, there will not be any workplace learning in Weeks 2.6 and 2.7 – students MUST attend school instead of WPL on these weeks. A couple of students are working to a different schedule, and they have been contacted individually to confirm these arrangements.

WPL Placement 2 will commence in Week 2.8 (Thursday/Friday).  All students will receive a confirmation email with details of their new placement.  Please contact the WorkPrep Office if you have any questions.

TAFE and School Based Traineeships/Apprenticeships – these programs continue throughout the year as per the employment contract, including Weeks 2.6 and 2.7.  If in doubt, please speak to Mrs Stirling.
