Reconciliation Week – 27 May to 3 June
The National Reconciliation Week 2025 design and artwork represented the theme, Bridging Now to Next, which reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. Bridging Now to Next urged us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.
The activity we undertook at the Senior School on Friday 30 May was an opportunity for our students to reflect on what their reconciliation efforts up to now have looked like, express what action they can take towards a reconciled future, and to come together as a community to make a collective commitment to walking together.
Each student completed a ‘leaf’ which contributed to an art installation in the shape of a bridge to celebrate and reflect on our college’s ongoing journey and commitment to reconciliation.
Vinnies Fundraising
Next week, after exams, our Year 10 Service Leaders will be ramping up their fundraising efforts for the Vinnies Winter appeal. They will be out in the quad and library next week, from Wednesday onwards, to raise money for Vinnies.
They will be selling hot chocolate/milo for $3 a cup at recess each day. Students can also donate a gold coin and have a guess at how many lollies are in the VERY large lolly jar in the library. Closest to the total will win the whole jar. Students will be able to track how much each house is raising by looking at the money tubes in the library. One of the Year 10 Service Leaders will be there to log students best guess.
House points will go to the House with the most money in the tube by the end of term! Bring in your loose change to help win the points and to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Date Claimer
On Friday 27 June, we will be having a free dress day to raise money for the Mary Rice Centre. Bring along a gold coin donation, and wear free dress for the day.
