Year 2/3 

Slippers & Soup Day

  • We got to wear our slippers and have soup. The type of soup we had was Chicken noodle soup and Pumpkin soup. You got to bring a gold coin donation. The gold coin was for the foster kids to raise money for them. It was fun and the soup was AMAZING!!! And you got to have a slice of bread with it. -Ruby and Mitchell

  • It was on Thursday the 31st of July. It was really fun having the soup and wearing our slippers. We had a wash station and we ate the soup inside. It was the best day ever. - Charlotte and Maddison.

  • Pumpkin chicken soup was my most favourite. All the slippers were cute, cool, funny and stylish. It was so joyful. - Amelie 

Maths

  • Lately, the 2/3s have been working on arrays and multiplication facts linked to each other. Not only have we been doing stuff in multiplication but we have also been doing division things. Including, having LOTS of  xtra math awards, having improvements in Times tables rockstars and getting better and better accuracy in 99 math. We have been getting BETTER than ever! - Barry

Reading- Yirra and her Deadly Dog Demon

  • In Yirra and her deadly dog demon we have come across some crazy stuff like at the start where Demon sprayed sand at the kids. We have had lots of fun reading Yirra and her deadly dog demon. Demon is also a very sly dog. Demon did not listen to Yirra. It was so fun reading Yirra and her deadly dog demon. -Corey  

  • We have also been doing vocabulary like whine, sly, rummage, grumble, concerned, smug - Angus

  • When reading Yirra and her Deadly Dog, we learnt about the word sprawl. That means to spread out. -Harry 

  • We have been learning some new words like sprawl means to spread out, rummage means searching for something in a hurry looking through stuff and concerned means worried and anxious. - Scarlett

Writing - Historical Recount

  • We have been learning about the Aboriginal flag. - Abby

  • We have been learning about the Aboriginal flag. The black means Aboriginal people, yellow means the sun and the red stands for land. And Vincent Lingiari led the wave hill walk off on the 23 of August. The wave hill walk off started in 1966. - Willow and Lilly 

Library

  • In Library we get to read books calmly and we get to do it with our parents now. What is your favourite book to read? My favourite book is diary of a wimpy kid. We sometimes bring our chrome books and search books up on Orbit. -Alasdair

  • Next week all parents in can come to LPS library if they want to help the kids find what they want and read with their kid/kids -Maddison and Charlotte

AUSLAN

  • In Auslan l learned how to do my name Chloe. It is so stupendous. l can also do the Cinderella play it will be awesome! - Chloe

  • In Auslan we are doing a script about Cinderella. So someone will read and someone will do the Auslan sign. - Ruby and Mitchell
