Year 5 Gymnastics in Physical Education – Building Strength, Teamwork and Creativity
This term, our Year 5 students have been diving into a dynamic gymnastics unit during their Physical Education lessons. Throughout the unit, students have explored a range of gymnastic movements including rolls, jumps, and inversions, while also developing partner counterbalances that challenge them to maintain strong and stable positions.
Teamwork has been a key focus, with students learning how to support and be supported by their peers safely and respectfully. They’ve applied critical and creative thinking to problem-solve and choreograph balanced routines together, building both their physical coordination and collaborative skills.
It's been fantastic to see students grow in confidence as they master new movements and work creatively to design routines that showcase their strength, control, and imagination. We’re proud of the effort and enthusiasm Year 5's have brought to each session!
