Year 1

In Year 1, we’ve been learning about how people have communicated throughout history.

We explored message sticks, which Aboriginal people traditionally used to send important messages, such as invitations to ceremonies and gatherings. Students were fascinated by how these symbols helped people stay connected long before modern technology. 

In Visual Arts, we painted colourful cows inspired by farm life and experimented with creating textured leaf prints using foil. These activities tied in beautifully with our observations of seasonal change, as we watched the autumn leaves fall and welcomed the arrival of winter.
