Year Seven-Nine
Coaching Parade Campus
As we near the end of the term, our Year Seven to Nine students have been busy finalising their learning across all subject areas. With a strong focus on consolidating their understanding and completing major assessment pieces, students have been engaged in wrapping up their work from core classes and electives. It’s been a productive period, with many showing pride in their efforts and growth over the term.
Our Year Seven to Nine students will soon be showing their school spirit and teamwork as they compete in our upcoming House Sports Days! Held over three action-packed days, students will participate in a range of sports, including basketball, volleyball, and soccer, alongside their year-level peers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get active, represent your House with pride, and cheer on your teammates. Let the games begin!

Elephant Ed Incursion Sessions
Students have also been participating in a two-session incursion run by Elephant Ed, focused on key themes from the Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships curriculum. Year Seven students have recently completed both of their sessions, engaging in interactive group discussions, games, and activities that explored respectful behaviour, boundaries, and communication. Year Eight students have completed their first session and will soon take part in the second, while Year Nine students are scheduled to begin their sessions shortly.
Year Seven Health - Personal Safety Within The Community
As part of our Health unit, our Year Seven students have been learning about Personal Safety within the community. This unit encourages students to think critically about their surroundings, understand how to recognise unsafe situations, and know the steps they can take to keep themselves and others safe. Through class discussions and real-life scenarios, students are developing the confidence and awareness they need to make safe, informed decisions when out in the community. Topics have included recognising trustworthy adults, how to user public transport safely, and understanding the importance of personal boundaries.
Year Seven Physical Education - AFL
In Physical Education, the focus has been on Australian Rules Football (AFL). Students are developing their fundamental movement skills through kicking, handballing, marking, and game sense activities. Whether they’re new to the sport or already fans, everyone has had the opportunity to build teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship. It’s been fantastic to see the enthusiasm students are bringing to each session.
Year Eight Health - Personal Safety and Cybersafety
This term, our Year Eight students are exploring some crucial topics designed to keep them safe and active both online and offline. Our Health lessons this term focus on Personal Safety alongside Cyber Safety. Students are gaining a deeper understanding of how to protect themselves in various environments, including online spaces. They are learning about safe practices when using social media and digital devices, recognising cyberbullying, and strategies to maintain their privacy and wellbeing in the digital world. These discussions help build resilience and empower students to make smart choices about their personal and online safety.
Year Eight Physical Education - AFL
In PE, the Year Eight cohort continues to develop their skills in Australian Rules Football (AFL). Through drills, teamwork exercises, and modified games, students are improving their kicking, handballing, marking, and tactical understanding. The focus remains on building fitness, coordination, and teamwork while encouraging a positive sporting attitude.
AFL Kicking Analysis
A key focus in PE this term for our Year Seven and Eight students has been how to analyse and improve their kicking techniques in AFL. Students are working collaboratively with their peers, recording their kicks on video using the Visual Communication Phones, and providing constructive feedback to one another. This hands-on approach helps them develop greater awareness, accuracy, and consistency in their kicking while also building teamwork and communication skills. They are continuing to practise handballing, marking and game strategies.
We’re proud of the commitment and enthusiasm our students are showing as they develop both important life skills and sporting abilities.
Rugby Army
This term, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Marcell and Jason from the Iron Armour to run the Rugby Academy training program at our school. Their energy, expertise, and passion for the sport have made a fantastic impact on our students. Each session has included dynamic drills such as passing circuits, tackle technique training, and team strategy games, all designed to build skills, confidence, and teamwork. It's been an incredible experience for all involved and we look forward to seeing the continued growth and enthusiasm it brings to our students.

Year Seven - Journalism
Last week, our Year Seven Journalist Enrichment Group stepped into the vibrant heart of Melbourne’s Chinatown to explore its rich history and culture. The excursion was a journey through time, flavour, and tradition and we returned with full notebooks and even fuller bellies!
We began with a walking tour along Chinatown’s bustling streets, led by a knowledgeable guide who shared fascinating stories about the first Chinese migrants who came to Australia during the gold rush era.
Next, we had the chance to try our hand at dumpling-making! Guided step-by-step, we folded, pinched, and filled delicious dumplings, learning just how much skill it takes to get them just right. Safe to say, we all left with a greater appreciation for the art of Chinese cooking (and a strong craving for more dumplings!).
We then visited the Chinese Museum of Australian History, where we toured exhibitions filled with artefacts, traditional clothing, and personal stories of Chinese-Australian families. One of the most unforgettable sights was the enormous Chinese New Year dragon used in traditional parades, it stretched across an entire room! The guide explained how it takes dozens of people to carry it and how it has become a symbol of celebration, strength and cultural pride.
This excursion gave us a deeper understanding of the Chinese community’s lasting impact on Melbourne and Australia. Through food, stories, and history, we experienced a slice of the cultural mosaic that makes our city so special.
