Dear Parents/Guardians,

Pupil Free Days Friday

A friendly reminder this Friday, 20th June, is a pupil free day. This is the day we have allocated to Assessment and Reporting. Each year schools are provided with 5 days for staff professional learning or collaboration. Our Term 3 pupil free day was approved at school council last week and will be on Wednesday 13th August. (We have aligned this with the pupil free day at the Secondary College).

Nude Food Challenge

Across last week we had a real focus on reducing the waste in our lunch boxes. We kept a class tally of the plastic and wrappers in out lunchboxes each day. Congratulations to Prep/1 Ross who won the challenge. Well done to our individual winners and a shout out to Mr Carroll for organising this for us.

Rochester Secondary Experience Day

On Tuesday our grade 5/6 Students had the opportunity to experience various activities and classes at Rochester Secondary College and get a taste of what life might be like on a daily basis.

Warm Doughnut

Don't forget students can purchase a warm cinnamon doughnut for $2 at recess next Wednesday 26th. All proceeds go towards supporting our start school spectacular Students.

Lost Property - Uniform

Our lost property collection is steadily growing and sadly many items are unnamed. We do our best to return lost items but they typically end up in the BER. As the term progresses, there seems to be more and more jumpers being left in the yard, on the oval and at the play equipment. Please assist us by naming all your child’s school clothing and reminding your child to take greater care for their property. All unclaimed uniform will be taken to the op-shop at the end of this term.

Prep Enrolments Due

The Department of Education suggests schools encourage families to submit these by the end of this term. If you know of families interested in attending Rochester Primary School in 2026, please encourage them to contact the school.

Semester 1 student reports

Teachers are currently collecting and analysing  student assessment data in preparation for our Semester 1 reports. Over the next 2 weeks, all teachers will be working in Professional Learning Teams to moderate student data in order to make consistent and comparable judgements of student learning against the Curriculum. It is important that students are at school so they can complete these assessments. Student reports will be released via XUNO during the last week of Term 2.
