What's On In 1/2

Our Grade 1/2 students have been busy little learners lately! In Maths, we've been diving into addition and subtraction in a fun and active way, using number lines, solving puzzles, and even creating our own number stories to bring equations to life. Our students have mastered a range of different mental and visual strategies.

In Literacy we’ve been getting ready for our exciting Literacy Safari next week! The students have been exploring different types of writing, all centred around our fascinating Integrated Studies topic about Australian animals. We have practiced doing structured research focused on a topic and used that information to create detailed information reports as well as creative poems. Their work is looking fantastic and we can’t wait to share it with you on Tuesday!

We are also gearing up for our exciting excursion to Healesville Sanctuary on Thursday next week. Thank you to the generous parents who have volunteered to assist us on the day. 

In the past few weeks, we have also been learning how to skip! With plenty of practice and determination, we have been working on timing their jumps and practicing their coordination. It has been lovely to see their confidence and smiles grow with every skip.
