Principal's Desk

Halfway Through the School Year Already!
As we wrap up another fantastic term at Park Ridge Primary School, I’d like to extend my warmest wishes to all families for a restful and enjoyable winter break. These two weeks offer the perfect chance to pause, recharge, and enjoy time together.
Celebrating Our Students and Staff
It has been a joy to witness the growth, effort, and achievements of our students across all year levels this term. Their hard work and determination have led to some truly outstanding results, both academically and personally. Please join me in celebrating all they’ve accomplished!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible commitment of our staff—our teachers and education support team—who work tirelessly to create the best possible learning experiences for every student.
End of Term Reminder
Term 2 will officially conclude on Friday, 4 July at 2:15pm. A brief announcement will be made over the PA system before students are dismissed from their classrooms.
Raising Concerns: Our Partnership with Families
At Park Ridge Primary School, we are committed to working in partnership with families to create a supportive and respectful environment for all students. We understand that concerns may arise from time to time, and it’s important these are handled constructively.
If you have any concerns about your child’s experience at school:
Speak to your child’s classroom teacher in the first instance—they know your child best and can often address matters quickly.
Contact the school leadership team if further support or follow-up is needed.
Please do not approach other students directly.Instead, share any concerns with your child’s teacher or our leadership team. This helps us ensure that all situations are managed with care, professionalism, and the wellbeing of all students in mind.
Thank you for your understanding and support in following this process.
Professional Practice Day – No Students On-Site
Each year, schools are allocated several days to support teacher professional learning and planning. One of these is our Professional Practice Day, which this year will be held on:
Wednesday, 5 November – Focus: Report Writing
We’ve again aligned this day with the Melbourne Cup public holiday to support families who may wish to enjoy an extended break. This decision was well received last year and allows us to support both staff and families effectively.
TeamKids will offer care services on this day for families needing support.
Final Thoughts
As we head into the break, I encourage you to take time to slow down, enjoy some family fun, and reconnect. Whether it's exploring local parks, sharing a good book, or simply relaxing at home, I hope the next two weeks bring rest and joy.
Thank you once again for your continued support. We look forward to seeing all students return refreshed and ready for a great Term 3 on Monday, 21 July.
Take care,
Warm Regards,
Mr Dale Blythman
