The 2025 School Production

Our Shrek Jr. production is well and truly underway, and the excitement is growing with each rehearsal! Students across all year levels have been enthusiastically learning songs, practising lines, and fine-tuning choreography as they prepare to bring this magical story to life on stage.
A huge thank you to our school community for your support in purchasing the official Shrek Jr. t-shirts. The students look fantastic in their shirts, and it's been wonderful to see them wearing them with such pride. To help build a sense of unity and celebration around our production, we encourage students to wear their t-shirts every ‘Musical Monday’. As we move closer to performance week, we’ll be inviting students to wear them more frequently to keep the Shrek spirit alive!
Our students have also been hard at work behind the scenes! They’ve been helping to create props and costume pieces—including knight's gauntlets, dragon scales, and spikes—and contributing their creativity to the theatre programme with cast announcements and original illustrations. It’s been wonderful to see the pride they’re taking in every part of the production process.
Volunteers Needed – Costumes & Props
We’re excited to open up volunteer opportunities for our “Shrek Jr.” production tasks, specifically in the areas of costumes and props. A sign-up sheet has been created to outline the tasks that need completing. If you see something you’re willing and able to help with, simply add your name next to the task and pop into the Performing Arts Room to collect the relevant materials or items. The spreadsheet will show which tasks have already been taken.
New tasks will continue to be added over the coming months as we move closer to production week, so please keep checking back!
To view the sign-up sheet, click (or copy and paste) the following link into your browser:👉 volunteersignup.org/9QWHX
Signing up is quick and easy—just follow the instructions on the page.
We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the incredible parents and carers who have already volunteered their time and talents to help bring this show to life. Whether you’ve been sorting and making costumes, building props, or lending your creative flair to make-up and hair design—we truly could not do this without you. A production of this scale requires a massive team effort, and your dedication makes it all possible.
In need of.........DONATIONS.
We are urgently seeking donations of plain grey tracksuit pants or grey leggings and plain grey, long-sleeve t-shirts. If we may be specific, grey marle is our preferred shade to help create a consistent look across the cast.
If you happen to be clearing out wardrobes over the holiday break and come across any outgrown or unwanted grey clothing that fits the bill, we would be incredibly grateful to give them a second life in our costume collection. We are specifically looking for sizes to fit Grade 2 students and Grade 5/6 students.
Volunteers – Working With Children Check Reminder
If you would like to assist us during Term 3 with costume try-on days, rehearsals, or other production-related activities, we’d love to have your help! A reminder that, in line with Victorian Government regulations, all volunteers who attend school during school hours must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you already have a WWCC, please ensure your WWCC details are registered with the school office as soon as possible. If you don’t yet have a check, you can apply online at www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au. Thank you for helping us create a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Thank you again for your support and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to share the magic of Shrek Jr. with you all very soon!
