We’re nearly at the finish line with the term break just around the corner.

As always at Great Ryrie, things aren’t slowing down. Today we hosted a busy Gala Sports Day with students from across the network, and on Monday, we are excited to welcome a visit from some of the AFLW Hawks.

On Tuesday our Years 3–6 students will be heading to Proclamation Park for Athletics Day, and in between all that, the loudspeaker has been working overtime with Shrek rehearsals now in full swing.

Trivia Night

On Saturday night, brains were buzzing, and pencils were poised as the Great Ryrie Trivia Night brought the ‘quizdom’ together 😊What a quizzical, fact-filled, fabulous fun night it was?

A big thanks to Melissa, our staff, and the clever crew of parents who put the night together.

For the parents that were lucky enough to secure a table (they sold out so quick), I hope you had a chance to connect with the parents in our  community,

You made it a night to quiz-member😊

Just a reminder that school will finish early next Friday at 2:30pm.

Team Kids will be running their usual program for anyone needing care after school, but make sure to book online.

2026 Prep Enrolments  Siblings and Online Platform

As we begin planning for Prep enrolments for 2026, we want to make sure we have accurate information, especially for families with siblings already at the school.

If you have a child who will be starting Prep next year, please speak with the office about the new online enrolment platform if needing assistance. The process may be different from when you enrolled previously, especially if you used a paper form.

It’s important that we are aware of all siblings starting in 2026 so they can be considered before places are offered more broadly.

Please don’t delay in letting us know, we want to make sure our current families are looked after as part of the process.

Child Safe Policies Updated and Strengthened

At Great Ryrie, the safety and wellbeing of our students is always our top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a child safe environment, our school’s Child Safe Policies have recently been reviewed and updated to align with the latest requirements under the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

These updated policies will be shared with our school community for consultation and   the final versions will be available on the school website.

In line with these responsibilities, all school staff, as well as our School Council members, have completed training in child safety practices. This training ensures everyone involved in the life of the school understands their role in keeping children safe, promoting a culture of inclusion and respect, and responding appropriately to concerns.

Mid-Year Reports Parent Teacher Interviews

You will have received some important information about the mid-year reports, which will be available on Tuesday.

Our teachers have put a great deal of time and care into preparing these reports. They’ve carefully reviewed assessment tasks and worked together to moderate student work, ensuring that each report provides an accurate picture of your child’s learning progress.

We’re very proud of what our students have achieved so far this year, and we encourage you to take the time to read through your child’s report and celebrate their efforts.

Parent/teacher interviews will take place in Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 3. Bookings can be made via Compass. These appointments fill quickly, so we encourage you to secure a time that suits your family as soon as possible.

Sensory Garden

Our Sensory Garden is looking fantastic, and we’re planning to have an official opening early next term.

If you happen to be on the school grounds during the holidays, we’d really appreciate your help in looking after our spaces. Having familiar faces around the playgrounds often helps to discourage any unwanted behaviour.

Wishing you all a relaxing term break. We’re looking forward to another great term ahead.
