From the Principal

Ms.Shannon Correll

To our wonderful school community,

I would like to welcome two new staff members to our school. Mara is a curriculum ESO who will be working in the classrooms with students and Felicity is our new front office person.  We also take this opportunity to thank Ms. Jacquie and Ms. Mardi for holding down the fort last term.  Ms. Mardi will now resume her role in the library and Ms. Jacquie will return to her Curriculum ESO and OSHC work.

Catholic Education Week  will be celebrated next week and is an annual opportunity to celebrate the excellent teaching and learning that happens in all Catholic schools, but especially St Brigid's School every day.

Giulia from OSHC will be on long service leave  for the rest of this term. Mr. Albert, Mr. Abz, Ms. Jacquie, Ms. Ritz, Mr. Danny and Mr. Phi will be running OSHC in her absence. We wish her all the best as she has the opportunity to spend quality time with her family and gorgeous granddaughter. We hope she has an amazing time and look forward to welcoming her back in Term 3.

Wishing all the Mothers, Grandmothers and special women in our students lives a wonderful Mother's Day this Sunday.

Reminding you that we really do need to know if your child is not coming to school. This information is entered into our reporting system when we finish our morning attendance roll. When a student misses class for an extended period of time without giving us any notice, I am obligated to report the absences as truancy. For pupils who miss more than ten days of absences without providing the school with notice an automatic report to the government occurs.

We also need your child at school at the right time.... school starts at 8:50 and your child is required to be in class at that time. By constantly being late to school, your child is missing out on very important learning.

We know many families are now travelling and going on holidays which is very exciting for all involved. It is a school requirement that we complete paperwork. Please come and see Felicity in the front for the paperwork at least a week before you travel so Ms. Correll can approve your leave from school.

We also wish Nicola James who has been relieving in the school last term and the last few weeks a wonderful trip overseas. Nicola has been working in every classroom and has made an wonderful contribution to our school. We will look forward to welcoming her back to St Brigid's on her return to Australia.

Yours in Peace Love and Learning,

Shannon Correll
