Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day

Last week we celebrated our Grandparents and Special Friends with a special day filled with joy, laughter and cherished moments. It was a memorable and heartwarming day for all involved.

The day began with our special guests having the opportunity to step inside the classrooms, where they engaged in various activities with their grandchildren. There was no shortage of fun-filled activities for them to joy! Activities included: comparing what school was like, then versus now, exploring the learning spaces, reading together and playing games. Some grandparents even tuning in virtually from overseas through a video call and sharing in the day despite being separated by distance.

The highlight of the day was the community picnic, where grandparents, friends and children gathered together to share morning tea and create lasting memories. Our youngest students delighted everyone with their adorable performances, singing sweet songs that warmed the hearts of all in attendance. The festivities continued with our Year 6 students showcasing their musical talents with xylophone performances, and even some grandparents joined in on the fun, tapping along to the music.

Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and happiness. The children's smiles lit up the day, and it was truly a privilege to witness the bond between generations as we celebrated our beloved grandparents. We look forward to many more special moments like these in the future.

Cross Country

The Emmaus Christian College Year 3-6 Cross Country event brought an exhilarating burst of energy to Bonython Park last Friday. Students from South Plympton and Brooklyn Park campuses laced up their running shoes and embarked on their cross country courses ranging from 1.5km - 3km.

Teachers stood at the sidelines, cheering on their students with unwavering support Among them, Mrs Meinel stood out, earning the well-deserved title of the best teacher cheering for the kids, her enthusiasm and encouragement fueling the students' determination to reach the finish line.

The Cross Country event proved to be more than just a race; it was a day filled with joy, teamwork, and accomplishment.
