At last week's assembly, the singing superstars performed in front of the whole school. Here are a couple of photos showing Nicky with her students. It was fantastic to see! If you child is interested in having lessons on how to sing with Nicky, please contact the office for her flyer. Lessons are held (usually) on a Monday at lunchtime.
Continuing from our commitment to Consistent Predictable Routines, our Circle Time practice at Bimbadeen is integral to the Berry Street Educational Model that we follow.
Circle Time is usually present at the start of each day in every classroom, with some being at the end of the day presented as a What Went Well. Circle Time is a great way to build on predictable routines, check in with each other, frame expectations and values for the day, and nurture meaningful relationships within the classroom. Circle provides an opportunity for students to come together as a community. It fosters a sense of belonging and inclusivity among students, creating a supportive classroom environment
Circle Time is a 5-10 minute morning routine, in which consists of the following:
Starting the day with a structured routine sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. It helps students transition from home to school mode, allowing them to mentally prepare for the day ahead. Circle encourages students to actively listen to their peers and show empathy towards their experiences. It reinforces the values of respect, kindness, and understanding within the classroom community.
Overall, Circle Time serves as a valuable component of the classroom routine, promoting social, emotional, and academic development while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Ask your child what their favourite handshake is to do in the morning or what they like about Circle Time.
Thank you,
