Attention Year 7 Families

Upcoming Wellbeing Day & Vaccinations

Year 7 Wellbeing Day - Monday 13 May 2024

The Year 7 Wellbeing Day will focus on the theme of tolerance, acceptance of all and positive decision making.

As part of the day students will engage with the Positive Change Makers (PCM) program facilitated by the Centre for Multicultural Youth. The PCM program uses experiential strengths-based learning to develop the next generation of socially aware young leaders. The PCM training modules are designed to help young people gain the valuable skills they need to become Positive Change-Makers. Delivered by experienced facilitators, the modules offer a range of engaging and practical activities to build the capacity of our future leaders and explore concepts of values-based leadership, team building, active citizenship, culture and allyship. Students will engage closely with the leadership and active citizenship modules on the day.

Students will also engage in activities where they address real world challenges and devise ways in which they can overcome them.

Students will partake in the days activities in their GOAL Groups, supported by their GOAL Mentors.  Students are permitted to wear their Healthy Lifestyles uniform on the day with a pizza lunch provided for students.  Students are asked to bring food for break times.

Parents/guardians are asked to please consent by Friday 10 May, 2024.

Consent or Decline Response Required

Dear Year 7 Parents and Carers,

This is a gentle reminder regarding the upcoming Year 7 immunisations scheduled for 9 May 2024, here at the college.

As a quick recap, this year, the Department of Health has transitioned to an online consent system for immunisations. This replaces the traditional paper cards used in previous years. Your consent is crucial for the administration of the vaccines, and you have the option to consent to either or both.

To provide your consent, please click on the link below and follow the instructions provided. You will receive a one-time password via text message for authentication purposes. If you have already provided your response, we thank you for your prompt action.

If you do not wish for your child to receive these vaccines, please be sure to submit a 'decline' response.

For any concerns or if you need to communicate any medical conditions to the nurses, there is a comment box provided in the form. Additionally, if clarification is required, the nurses may reach out to you.

It is most important that you click/tap 'submit' on the final summary page to confirm your response. This will trigger a confirmation email confirming that your reply has been submitted.

Thank you for your cooperation, and please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any further questions or concerns.

Kind regards

Beaumaris Secondary College
