Pastoral Focus

Energetic and fun-filled

As we end what is my first term at St George’s, I find myself in a reflective mood. The past 9 weeks have been a whirlwind, but I would really like to thank the whole St George’s community for making me feel so warmly welcomed in my new role as Head of Pastoral – Student Wellbeing.

Highlights so far include the Year 12 Ball, the guest speaker presentations delivered to the new families by Hello High School author Claire Eaton, Year 7 Camp and of course the World’s Greatest Shave. Our fund-raising target of $11,000 was ambitious for a small school. However, it is a testament to this school that we finished with $13,188.30 to give to the Leukemia Foundation of WA, who were so impressed they sent one of their top people to the school to congratulate us and to offer even moree support in the future. Next year $15,000?

I would also like to add my congratulations to the St George’s Dragons Swim Team. A highly energetic way to round out a fun filled term.

So, what is next? After returning on 16 April, we will host the Year 10 and 11 River Cruise just three days later on 19 April. Year 10, 11 and 12 exams and the Year 8 Camp will follow, as will our Parent Guest Speaker Series. Adam Pryzula, from Armed 4 Life, is an expert on the challenges facing young people in the modern environment. Keep your eye out for tickets to this important and free event.

Happy Easter one and all
