College Open Day

Last Saturday was the College’s annual Open Day. Thank you to all students who helped out in tours and in all our departments.  It was a wonderful day, with prospective families able to view the  college at its finest.

Harmony Week

Throughout this week staff and students have been celebrating Harmony Week. Since its inception in 1999, Harmony Week has celebrated the cultural diversity of Australia, with Thursday the 21st of March being the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Tying in with St Patrick's Day, green was worn on Tuesday—celebrating the Irish heritage of many Australians, orange on Wednesday—signifying the freedom of ideas and mutual respect, and anything that represents one’s unique cultural heritage on Thursday. This was a great opportunity to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, particularly with an “Inclusive Community” being a key EREA touchstone whilst earning some house points for participation.

Year 12 Major Works Day

On Friday of last week, the Year 12 Major Works Day was held for Drama, English Extension 2 and History Extension, Industrial Technology, Music and Visual Arts students to work on a critical component of their HSC studies, whilst providing the remainder of the cohort an opportunity to consolidate learning and notes. With the College Open Day being the following day, this made for a great two days of undisrupted work on projects.
