From the Principal
What do people say?
Over the last few months, I have had the opportunity to speak with members of our community in a range of forums as we continue to shape our strategic plan towards 2025.
These have included:
- Parent coffee mornings at Dylans
- The Boarding Forum
- Principal events in Denmark and Bremer Bay
- Field Days and shows in Newdegate, Esperance, Kojonup and this weekend, Katanning
- The Year Eleven student leadership retreat
- The Year Twelve leaders lunch
- The Year Twelve Valedictory last Friday.
As many of you know, I always ask one question: What do people say about GSG?
Time and time again, parents, community members, students, staff and alumni say the same things:
- GSG has clearly defined Christian values that are lived
- GSG is an inclusive community
- GSG is proud to be a co-educational boarding school
- GSG has a sense of warmth and is welcoming
- GSG fosters a sense of safety and belonging
- GSG nurtures positive relationships
- GSG promotes wellbeing
- GSG believes in academic excellence
- GSG has extensive opportunities beyond the classroom
- GSG is committed to service
- GSG is located in a stunning regional environment.
These are important foundations for our school as they place people at the centre of our existence. These foundations represent our DNA. Furthermore, these foundations provide clarity of purpose. This is often this is referred to as a school's mission.
As the school continues to develop a new strategic plan for 2025, understanding our DNA will guide our future goals, decision-making and future endeavours.
It is essential that we continue to listen to each other, honour our past, celebrate the present and shape our aspirational future together.
Go well
