Grade 3-6 Bullying Programm
Today our grades 3,4,5 and 6 were involved in an incursion around social inclusion and empowerment. Through the incursion, students gained a shared understanding of what bullying is and further insight into the emotional impacts of peers who are excluded or discriminated against.
Students enjoyed taking part in role plays and developed many strategies they could use to help stand up for themselves and others. One of the big ideas that was presented and discussed was that each of us has the power to challenge bullying, even in the smallest and simplest ways.
The Grade 5 and 6 students also were involved in a session around digital use. They explored the concepts of digital safety, reporting tools, and what their online responsibilities were. They explored the opportunities and challenges of online communication and explored how to navigate possible conflicts.

On Friday the 1st of November Grades 5 and 6 had an incursion. We had 3 people from Project Rockit come and talk to us about bullying. First, we played a game called level up, which is where you level up if you do a good thing and level down if you do a bad thing. For example, if you were a bystander in a scenario you level down and if you are an upstander you level up. This game helped us reflect on ourselves and see what we need to work on. This game was so much fun and we learned a lot, it also helped us get ready for high school.
