Principal’s News

Dear Families,

Last Friday was officially World Teachers' Day, a special day for educators across Australia.

As Pope Francis so aptly has quoted:

“Teaching is a beautiful job; as it allows you to see the growth day by day of people entrusted to your care.”

It was wonderful seeing our children and families celebrating and recognising the talent and dedication of our teachers and staff here at St Joseph’s as they continue to inspire and enable our students to flourish and enrich the world.

As I know you are, I am so proud of the outstanding work our teachers and staff do and am very grateful for the enormous contribution they make through their commitment and passion for Catholic education and the children at St Joseph’s.

Mass of Thanks

We look forward to welcoming our much loved Principal Mrs Moore and her family to her Mass on Friday 8th November where we get the opportunity to give thanks for her amazing contributions to the St Joseph’s community over the past 7 years.

We also wish to give thanks for Michelle’s dedicated service to Catholic Education. She truly is one of the greatest educators of all time and St Joseph’s has been truly blessed to have been led by such a talented and passionate leader.

The Mass will commence at 9.15am followed by a morning tea on the school grounds. Everyone is welcome.

The children were reminded today that they are expected to be dressed in full school uniform including school shoes on the day so that we are looking our shiniest best for the wonderful Mrs Moore.

Champions of Our School

Ethan (Prep B) for his outstanding efforts as a superstar writer.

Congratulations to Callum (5C) who competed at the Regional Athletics and placed third with a personal best time. Callum, we are incredibly proud of you as you continue to try your best and rise to the occasion. Sensational effort!

Well done to Narelle (Navy’s Mum 30) who is making a difference in our world alongside her sister Bec. Narelle and Bec are the founders and business owners of Cubbyhouse Canteen. Narelle and Bec were featured on a Current Affair where they highlighted their concern about the growing crisis with Youth Mental Health.

Rather than just talk about it Narelle and Bec are throwing what they can at Australia's youth mental health crisis, with a percentage of every gingerbread man sale going to the Kid's Helpline.

As Bec so eloquently said "Even if we can't give millions of dollars, we can make everyone aware that Kids Helpline is there to help and we want people to reach out if they need it,"

Well done Narelle along with your sister Bec you really are champions of our school!

All Saints and All Souls

The upcoming feast days of All Saints and All Souls give us time to pause and reflect on those who have passed, and their continuing importance in our lives.

For this year’s All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, let us remember our ancestors and be inspired by them.

Prayer to the saints Oh, saints of God Who lived, loved, died and rose as did Jesus. Be our companions That we may be large in thought, word and deed. Bringing peace, joy, love and compassion To our lives and all around us. To God be glory in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Thoughts and Prayers

We were all deeply saddened this week by the tragedy that occurred at Auburn South Primary School. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of Jack and the grieving Auburn South school community. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Jack’s family.
