From our Principal

Christine Pillot

It's hard to believe that we are already in week 5 in term 4, nearly half way through the term.  It's been a busy but very settled and positive first few weeks of term, with students well into and enjoying their school routine and programs.   Students are currently being assessed against their lEP goals, ready for teachers to review goals and write end of year reports.  Teachers and students are also preparing for Student Support Group Meetings (SSG) over the the next week, (6-11 Nov) to share and celebrate student progress and goal attainment.  If you haven't booked in for a SSG meeting yet, we encourage you to do this through Compass - Conferences, (under the Community tab).

Building update

The project is now 80 per cent complete.  It's certainly taking shape, starting to resemble more and more like the long planned admin/library-resource/pool/fitness school building.

The curved front design with external and internal colours to blend in with the surrounding natural and leafy environment provides a warm and welcoming feel.

Our recent library/resource room furniture survey saw students favour the Van cubby, and students and staff favour the Yarning Circles fabric for some of our ottomans to be covered in.

Showcase and Shine / Christmas Raffle

Once again Leanne Gordon has been working hard behind the scenes throughout the year to organise our Christmas raffle.  Please keep an eye out for raffle tickets in two weeks time.  There are multiple hampers to be won.  Winners will be drawn at the conclusion of our Showcase and Shine evening.

Outside of School Hours Care - High Intensity Program

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that we have been successful in an application to run a fully funded OSHC program at Croydon SDS commencing in term 1, 2025.   Funding for this program has been confirmed up to the end of term 2, 2027.

The Department of Education High Intensity OSHC program will recruit and manage program the service provider for us.  We anticipate that a provider will be appointed by early December; following this, we'll commence working with them to set the program up for our students.  The service will include care at the end of each school day and during school holiday periods.  There will be a capacity on the number of students that can attend each day.  Further details about the program will be communicated to all families by the our new OSHC program service provider in the near future.

Parent Payments

Last month school council approved parent payments for 2025.   Next year we move to a set fee for all students across the school, previously these were different for each section.

Please see attached letters outlining parent payments for 2025.  I encourage you to reach out to Val Maher, (Business Manager) if you would like to discuss this, phone 9725 4933.

International Student Program (ISP)

This year we applied to remain ISP accredited to enrol international students at our school.  We are delighted to announce that our application was successful, we are accredited for the next 4 years to have one international student enrolled.
