This next week, students in SMPPS will learn more about the Mexican celebration Dia de Muertos. On Saturday, 2nd November from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM there will be a family-friendly celebration of Día de Muertos at the Atrium in Fed Square. There will be an Altar Exhibition, a market, food trucks, and a live show.
Don’t miss The Catrina Walk from the State Library of Victoria to Fed Square, departing at 3:00 PM. It is organized by MEXVIC, this event is a wonderful opportunity to experience Mexican culture with your family and connect what they have learned at school!!
Bird Watching for Australian Bird Count Week
This week, our students participated in the Australian Bird Count, and the excitement was contagious! The kids were thrilled to spot some of Australia’s unique bird species, including noisy miners, Australian ibises, crows, black swans, and cockatoos.
We encourage families to go out this weekend and see what birds you can spot in your local area. It’s a great way to connect with nature and contribute to the bird count!
