Hi members of the South Melbourne Park Primary School community,

We are students from the Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School undertaking the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). We have had the privilege to collaborate with your school to implement one of our projects into your school.

Our group wanted to work on improving the literacy rates among young children in primary school. Illiteracy is a widespread global issue that deprives a large proportion of the population of the fundamental skills needed to read and write. This significantly hinders their ability to access information and opportunities. By implementing our project, we hope to make a small contribution to combating this global issue by providing South Melbourne Park Primary School with a little library! You can find these little libraries in the walkway between the drill hall and the office building. Feel free to take, borrow or add any books to the bookshelf and we hope you find a new favourite book!

We hope to inspire and support young learners to read more and foster enjoyment in reading by equipping them with additional literacy resources.

Please encourage your friends/kids to borrow books and add any books!
