Grade 1 & 2 

Our Grade One and Two students have been very busy these last two weeks and have shared many wonderful moments in our Learning Community.

The concept for our RE unit this term is ‘Family’. They have shared memories of their families, read about Mary’s visit to Elizabeth (with their stories of beginning a family) and discovered the differences between life in the time of Jesus and family life in our present time. Last week we talked about Sacred Prayer, wrote prayers of Praising, Thanking and asking God for needs in our families, remembering “God Has Been So Good To Me’. We then joined in a Sacred Prayer time, sharing our prayers, reading the Gospel of The Visitation and singing ‘Mary’s Song’ by Andrew Chinn. The children all eagerly and prayerfully participated.

During our Inquiry this week that students have been learning about old toys and games. They were extremely excited to learn about and see some of the old toys/games the teachers brought in to share and some of the old photos their parents sent in to share. Once they learnt about these old toys and games the students designed and created their own toys. 

We have had a great week and look forward to another great week of learning.
